Friends of St Andrews Church

We have a group of caring people within St Andrew’s Church who have volunteered to become the "Friends of St Andrew’s". Basically they offer friendship and company to those within the congregation who are no longer able to easily get out and about, making them unable to attend church. This is usually due to age or infirmity.  These housebound people are important members of our church and the Friends allow them to keep active within our church family. Many people being visited will be supporting our church through prayer and they are very happy to get all the church news, as well as the comfort of a visit.

Jillie Taylor coordinates the group and she is the point of contact for anyone wishing to suggest someone who would benefit from being visited by a Friend, or for anyone who would like to become a Friend. Jillie communicates any important information directly with the minister and with the associated elder. She relies heavily on the congregation keeping her up to date with any  changes in circumstances, as new visiting can only be arranged if a new need is highlighted. As well as our "Friends of St Andrew’s Church" group, Jillie personally offers Pastoral Care to those needing it and she is involved with both hospital visiting and with visiting within a time of crisis. Please keep the work of this group in your prayers.
