Rev Morag Garrett

My name is Morag Garrett and I have been blessed to be the Minister at St Andrew’s Church in Ayr since 2012.  St Andrew’s is a friendly family of God, a group of disciples who endeavour to ‘make the love of Jesus known to all’ through our worship, fellowship and fun times together.  The Word of God is our authority in all matters as we seek to know God in all his fullness, growing in faith and experiencing God’s love, grace and mercy.

There is much to be said about the wonder of being part of God’s work here in Ayr, but why not come along and find out for yourself on a Sunday morning at 11am.  There is also many other events throughout the week where some of us meet to encourage one another, pray together, search the Bible for understanding, meet for fun and company.  As you read the content of this website and consider where your spiritual home might be, I pray that you will discover anew the love God has for you and come to know him in a new and wonderful way.

When Jesus walked among his disciples, friends and followers, he said, “A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13.34-35).  This is truly the evident truth that is shared in this great church.

I believe this is because Jesus Christ is at the heart of everything we do in St Andrews, the love we each have for God flows out from that Christ centred focus, and into the community where God has called us to serve.  So, if you haven’t managed for a while or would like to join us for the first time … no matter the reason, no matter for how long, know that you are a valued and integral part of the family and I look forward to meeting you.

Coming to church has more to it than our friendships, sharing and supporting one another, it is about putting our preferences aside, as we gather in unity to worship God Almighty.  In that time we focus our attention on Jesus, and all he has done to give us new life in him. It is a time of blessing as we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, looking to him for inspiration in our day to day living.  It is a time when God meets with us in our praise we offer.  It is also a time to be uplifted and encouraged by the promises of God we find in the Bible.

If you haven’t been to church for a while, or you come faithfully, and would like to meet me or chat over any concerns you might have, please accept this invitation to contact me on 01292 261472.  I would love to get to know each of you personally, and I am happy to pray with you, knowing God can meet your every need.

A great preacher, CH Spurgeon, once said, “I have a great need for my Christ, but I have a great Christ for my need”.  So, come along on Sunday and rekindle your relationship with this great Christ and know his love, peace and comfort.

May God richly bless you, as you look to him.
